Case Review: When the Child’s Voice Is Heard – But Not Understood
In my work reviewing case files, I have examined many child welfare cases where child experts have listened to the child’s voice without having the necessary training in cross-generational coalitions and family dynamics. This can lead to misunderstandings and misjudgments, especially in complex family situations where the child’s statements may be influenced by one parent or shaped by a shared belief (Shared Psychotic Disorder, ICD-10 F24).
Professionals working with children in divorce and conflict cases must understand how cross-generational coalitions and psychological abuse can affect the child’s experiences and statements. Without this knowledge, important signals about the child’s well-being and relationships may be overlooked, potentially leading to incorrect decisions about the child’s future.
That is why I have created this case review and developed a method that utilizes AI to scan child expert statements for errors and omissions automatically. By combining professional insight with modern technology, we can identify systematic mistakes and improve the quality of the assessments made on behalf of children. The goal is to ensure that the child’s voice is not only heard but also understood in the right context.
I recommend that all child experts and relevant professionals receive thorough training in family dynamics, cross-generational coalitions, and relevant diagnostic criteria. Only then can we ensure that the child’s voice is truly heard—and understood—in the proper context.
Recommendation for Parents: Use the Jasmin Scanning Tool
If you are involved in a child welfare or custody case, it is essential to ensure that your child’s voice is not only heard, but also understood in the right context. Many child expert statements may contain errors or overlook important family dynamics, especially if the professional lacks training in cross-generational coalitions and psychological abuse.
To help address this, I have developed an AI-based tool Called Jasmin that automatically scans child expert statements for errors and omissions. By using this tool, you can gain greater insight into the quality of the assessments made in your case and help ensure that decisions about your child’s future are based on a thorough and accurate understanding.
I strongly encourage all parents to take advantage of this scanning tool. It is a valuable resource for safeguarding your child’s well-being and making sure their voice is truly understood.Security & Compliance by Design
